I have been searching for a buffet for our dining room since we moved into the Farmette. I went back and forth about refinishing an old dresser or buying some kind of open shelving. After perusing several local antique stores and not being able to find exactly what I was looking for, I finally decided on this Adept Storage Credenza from Target. (Bonus that I snagged in on sale during Black Friday.)
It arrived quickly and Sophia was very eager to help me assemble it. The box was so heavy I couldn’t even carry it inside the house! I ended up opening it up on the front porch and carrying it inside by the piece haha.
My original plan was to not have open shelving because I needed the extra storage space and wanted to hide some “ugly” kitchen overflow. I hate when shelves are only used for display, and was happy that I was able to utilize this space to make it both “pretty” and functional after a little cherry-picking from my kitchen cabinets. I didn’t realize how many white pieces I had until I started staging these shelves!
By turning this area into a coffee bar it freed up both cabinet and countertop space. You can read more about my awesome new coffee maker and get the recipe for those Cinnamon Sugar Mini Muffins. I added a little Christmas charm with a few subtle accents to cozy up the coffee bar for the holiday season.
This sweet little gold and white neutral nativity set is also from Target. The small snowy house figurines were gifts from many years ago and the tree wrapped in burlap was a $3 junk store find. The winter barn mug peeking atop the (World Market) drying rack is my absolute favorite. I bought it from the nicest older man at a different antique store for a quarter. The “A Season Filled with Joy” art was super on sale from Kohl’s.
Spoiler alert: James finished our farmhouse dining table and it goes perfectly with this buffet / coffee bar. Can’t wait to show you the finished room!
